On Tuesday 26th September, Year 2 visited the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill.
This half term, our topic in Year 2 is Music Makers – so we went to take part in an exciting workshop where we explored different musical instruments from around the world. We had lots of fun making a soundscape where we used the different instruments to compose a piece of music that reflected the sounds of a rain forest!
As well as our workshop, we also had the opportunity to see (and smell!) the museum’s alpacas (Peep and Poppy). Did you know, alpacas are members of the camel family and they are native to South America?
The museum also had it’s own aquarium, and we were lucky enough to have a look around at their collection of tropical fish. They even had orange clown fish – the same species as Nemo!
We all had a great day – staff and children alike, and we wouldn’t have been able to go without the help of our parent volunteers. Thank you for coming!
