Nursery’s visit to West Ruislip Lido

As part of our work on ‘Pirates’ Nursery planned a trip to West Ruislip Lido. On Tuesday 19th June, Nursery boarded a coach and headed out to West Ruislip Lido for a fun day out on the beach. The children were super excited on route to the Lido and they talked about making amazing sandcastles and eating their delicious packed lunch on the beach.

When we got there we ate our lunch straight away and headed for the steam train ride. Boarding the train at Woody bay, it took took us through the woods heading towards Hodge Hill. We waved at the dogs, squirrels, cats and the people walking past. The children sang Nursery rhymes and took lots of lovely photos of us on the train.

When we returned to the beach, we spent time in the sprinkler area and the pirate ship playground. Everyone loved splashing about in the water and some of us climbed all the way up to the top of the pirate ship and made some of our friends ‘slide down the plank’.

Have a look at some of the things we have been up to!!

The next day, we made posters telling everyone about West Ruislip Lido. Have a read to see what you can find there…
