Osmani’s Sensational Science week!

Our aim for Science Week was to think about the different scientific journeys that happen every day and how you can discover science through our own lives and experiences.

We began the week with a stimulating, interactive, educational Up, Up and Away Science Show, where we learnt about Forces. Each year group conducted exciting investigations to explore, observe and test different forces and shared their findings with their peers. Parents and Carers also joined in and supported us with our investigative learning. Brilliant discoveries were made and children had a spectacular time being super scientists!

Have you ever rubbed your hands together? Are your hands warm? Rubbing hands together is one of the example of friction. Our hands become warmer due to friction generating heat.

Did you know that Sir Isaac Newton was one of the first scientists to study gravity and force? Without gravity, we would fall right off of Earth’s surface and float away! Or that gravity is the reason a ball comes back down when you throw it into the air, instead of just travelling higher and higher?
