What a lovely day it was! We travelled to Chalkwell farm on a chartered train. It was a pebbly beach, there was a shallow paddling pool and we dipped our feet inside to keep cool. We splashed around the water all the adults and children were soaked but we had so much fun. Towards the end of the trip we enjoyed a delicious, creamy ice-cream.
Year One went to Victoria Park. Our topic is ‘In the Garden’ and we have been learning about plants in science. We went on a plant hunt, and we did leaf/bark rubbings. We also identified the different wildlife around the park. What an amazing trip it was!
Our trip to St Matthew’s Church
The whole of Year 1 went to St Matthew’s Church in Bethnal Green where we were greeted by Mother Erin who spoke to us about the Easter story. We learnt about the different ways to show how we care about others and the different ceremonies that the church conduct. Mother Erin mentioned the importance of showing care to others and the importance of building friendships. We also sketched different parts of the church and enjoyed a looking at the wall art that was displayed.
Year 1 went on a class trip to ‘Stepney City Farm’ on Thursday 11th January 2018. We took part in a walk to find different food items on the farm. We even ate some of the produce that is grown on the farm and learnt about the different animals and what products they help make e.g Sheep skin rugs.
