‘She’s behind you!’ The children from Year 1 to Year 6 experienced yet another exciting pantomime trip to the Hackney Empire. This years adventures were with ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, introducing the children to a host of characters from Buttercup the Cow and Dame Daisy to two evil bugs and of course, Jack and the moody giant. The children enjoyed the performance of a range of songs and dances along with some interesting additions to the traditional tale. As always the children were invited to join in with the final song, with a few actions, this time to bring Buttercup home. Fun was had by all, including the staff!
At Osmani, we invited Sixth Form students from secondary schools in Tower Hamlets to deliver presentations and Q&A sessions as part of their final training session to become an Ambassador of Faith and Belief. The group of children represented a range of religions, faith perspectives and cultures.
Each student finished the training day by visiting one of the classes at our school to work with the pupils and deliver their final presentations. All classes in Years 1 to 6 were visited. It was a great opportunity for both the students and our pupils at Osmani and it was clear they all learnt lots and enjoyed the visit!
The visitors said: “We are really grateful to all the teachers and pupils who helped us and gave us feedback on our presentations and to all the staff at Osmani for their wonderful hospitality”.
We wish the students the best of luck with their ambassador work in Tower Hamlets and look forward to having them at Osmani again.

Our pupils returned to school on Thursday 3rd September 2015 after the summer holidays.
At the end of the day, a parent asked her son who just started Year 1 how his day went, he replied, “it was totally EPIC!”
My hope is that we have another ‘totally epic’ academic year where our children feel safe, enjoy learning and Reach for the Stars.
