In Years 5 and 6, EqualiTeach held workshops for the children. They were interactive and fully participatory.
The aim of the workshop was to:
- support young people to understand that everyone has a different world view and we don’t always see the world in the same way as other people
- explore how sometimes information that may be accepted as fact when it may not be reliable
- examine the potential damaging consequences of believing in false information
- enable pupils to see how critical thinking skills can be used to prevent the escalation of a situation and reject division, prejudice and hate.
It was a great opportunity for children to learn from any misconceptions they may have had prior to the session.
